His character in ‘Raajneeti’ is making waves and now Manoj Bajpai is getting ready for his next dark shaded film.

Titled ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, the film will be directed by Anurag Kashyap, interestingly who is getting teamed up with Manoj nearly after twelve years. Earlier, Kashyap had written Bajpai’s memorable villain character Bhikhu Mhatre for ‘Satya’.

The actor is in fact said to be quite thrilled with this matter that the same person who wrote Bhikhu Mhatre's role is not only writing his character in this film but is also directing it.

Touted as Kashyap's most ambitious project till date, the film is based on a story of a coal mine mafia.

Besides, the buzz is that his role will be inspired from Marlon Brando's character of ‘The Godfather’. The director said to have plans to recreate ‘The Godfather’ aura on screens. The shooting of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ is expected to start from next month, in the locales of Singhaul, Bihar.

The film will also feature Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Piyush Mishra and newcomer Raj Yadav. Heard that talks are going on to bring Shabana Azmi on board as well.
