Our birdies brought in this news that Vishal Bhardwaj had offered Imtiaz Ali to act in his Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Ek Batta Saat’. After discussing the film, Imtiaz initially had given the nod to do it.

As a matter of fact, Imitaz earlier had been a theatre actor and played a cop in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Black Friday’ before he took to direction.

Now, when the ‘Love Aaj Kal’ filmmaker heard that in the film he had to woo the actress by reciting romantic shaiyaris (read poems), Imtiaz immediately backed out.

He was feeling too shy at the very thought of romancing Priyanka on screen. Vishal tried to convince Imtiaz that he would fit the bill because of his looks, but Imtiaz politely turned down the offer.

In Ek Batta Saat, Priyanka plays love interest of seven men. While John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Mohan Lal and Naseeruddin Shah are among them, other cast are yet to be finalised.
