Recently the actor was shooting an underwater sequence in a swimming pool for Sajid Nadiadwala's ‘Housefull’. According to sources, Akki dived in to the deep-end of the pool quickly, without equalizing the pressure and in the process, hurt his right eardrum. But he continued shooting despite being in extreme pain. Only after the shoot got over did he allow Sajid Nadiadwala to take him to the Kokilaben Ambani hospital in Andheri in the wee hours. The doctors advised him to take rest for at least ten days. Thus postponing all his work schedules.

Over this incident, the director Sajid Khan is really impressed with Akshay’s professionalism. He recalled the days when the actor continued working without complaining, despite in pain or fever. Once they were shooting for the same movie in Italy at a hotel on the edge of a cliff, which had eight floors. “While foreign stuntmen would think twice and use cables and other things to move from the balcony of one floor, we would see a cool-as-a-cucumber Akshay jumping with only cables to different balconies. I have never seen any actor perform scary stunts as him. I used to get scared but now I have stopped. He knows what he's doing and enjoys performing high-voltage stunts.”
