2009 looks to be a good year for Madhavan, who seems to have his platter full with promising movies and is looking forward to the realease of some projects with big names. The star recently signed with two young directors, Navdeep Singh and Aanand Rai, who have proved their mettle with the critically well-received movies Manorama Six Feet Under and Strangers.
Talking about the projects has Madhavan excited. The actor asserts that his brush with Vikram Kumar, the director of 13B, left him with an appreciation for concrete storylines. Similarly, Madhavan admits that he has high hopes for Navdeep and Aanand. Though Navdeep's Manoram was a box office flop, it was unanimously applauded by critics. The movie's marketing strategy led to the movie's collapse. Strangers, which also had a stellar cast, suffered from a lack of marketing. Aanand's movie is titled Tanu Weds Manu, but Navdeep's venture is yet untitled. Navdeep's movie is being produced by Mukesh Talreja and Nikhil Advani, who also collaborated on the highly successful Salaam-E-Ishq.
While these movies promise to keep Madhavan busy into next year, he's also eagerly awating the release of Teen Patti. The hearthrob has been cast alongside the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Sir Ben Kingsley in Teen Patti. Also releasing is another multi-starrer, Three Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and co-starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sharman Joshi.
