After making his debut with the much appreciated independent film titled Hyderabad Blues and till the blockbuster film Iqbal, it was a wonderful triumphant journey for director Nagesh Kukunoor.
Then for the first time in his career, Nagesh tasted failure with the box office dud called Bombay To Bangkok.
Though the film maker is still highly respected in the B-Town, it can be said that the debacle of Bombay To Bangkok has put him in a tight spot.
It has been sometime since Nagesh completed the production of the film titled as Aashayein having John Abraham in the lead role.
But the film has been lying in the cans as no distributors have till now shown enough will power to take up the movie and release it.
It is told that the distributors have doubts regarding the movie doing well and John Abrahams ability to pull in the crowd as a solo protagonist.
If Bombay To Bangkok had been a blockbuster, the distributors would have shown enough faith in Aashayein.
Presently for Nagesh, the scenario is such that his forthcoming thriller flick titled as 8 x 10 Tasveer should be able to entice the film lovers and go on to become a hit.
This film with a whooping budget of Rs. 55 crores is the costliest project Nagesh has ever associated with.
Percept Pictures- the production company of 8x10 Tasveer had showed full trust in Nageshs talent and also helped him to rope in Akshay Kumar as the protagonist.
So the film needs to get successful for the excellent rapport between the film maker and the production house to gain more momentum in the future.
8x10 Tasveer get to the cinema halls on April 3.
