The young guy has started to fly.
'Slumdog Millionaire' after giving him world wide exposure and recognition has given Dev Patel a film to be canned by none other than Manoj Night Shyamalan.
Now that is what can be called a quick promotion. Right!
The film to be directed by the acclaimed director of 'Sixth Sense' is called 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'.
Nicola Peltz, Noah Ringer and Jackson Rathbone are the other main actors of the Hollywood flick.
It is a live action movie to be presented by Nickelodeon Films and Paramount Pictures and is based on a Nickelodeon series.
Luck also played its part in 18 year old Dev grabbing the role of Zuko.
Mr. Shyamalan's first choice for the role was pop star Jesse McCartney .
But as Jesse's tour dates clashed with a pre-production camp for imparting martial arts training for the actors, Dev came into the frame.
The director says "Dev was already one of the guys I was interested in. Then I saw 'Slumdog Millionaire' and the kid just grew in my eyes".
From a Danny Boyle film to one of Manoj Night Shyamalan, Indeed a giant leap.
