Shahid Kapoor has wowed the critics as well as the masses for his excellent performance in JAB WE MET. In its first week, and JWM has already been declared a hit in the trade. Shahid is already flying high on a hat trick of successes, starting with 36 CHINATOWN , the biggest super hit of last year VIVAAH and now JAB WE MET.

Considering that Shahid has given solo hits is commendable, since he is one of the very few actors to do so and is giving the superstars a run for their money. Infact the distributors are unanimous that Shahid can carry a film on his shoulder alone.

Shahid Kapoor is taking over the mantle as the romantic lover boy image in Bollywood. Trade analysts are unanimous that after SRK in DDLJ and Salman Khan in HAHK, Shahid is the best bet to take over this mantle since he is a stupendous performer. In fact JAB WE MET is all set to join the league of iconic films in the romantic genre like DDLJ and HAHK.

Ever since his debut in the bubblegum ISHQ VISQ, Shahid had become the darling of the youth. He is the quintessential boy, a girl can take home. And with the super success of VIVAAH and JAB WE MET, he has reached another level.

JAB WE MET has been declared one of the biggest grossers of this year. Declared a hit already with appreciation coming in from all quarters, the film is now going for a kill. In its second week, the print count has seen a massive increase with 40%-50% increment in shows all over.

Confirms Imtiaz, "Yes, the response has been overwhelming. I expected a good turnout but frankly the way Jab We Met has eventually performed at the box office is beyond my expectations too. Now we are further going for a kill by increasing the print count all over the world."

Rattling down some of the figures and facts he has in hand, Imtiaz informs, "In Mumbai city alone the shows have increased from 204 in the first week to 301 per day in the second week. On the other hand, up North in the Punjab territory, looking at the phenomenal business that the film is doing, the shows have seen a jump from 68 to 99 per day. A similar pattern is being followed everywhere whether India or abroad. As you must be aware, it is a big success already in overseas too."

Obviously, with all the top banners approaching him after the hit, it's Shahid' who is laughing all the way to the bank.
