Sanjay Proven Guilty; Max three years jail

Film star Sanjay Dutt has been proven guilty under the Arms act and he has been acquitted under the TADA laws in the infamous 1993 Mumbai Bomb Blast case. Actor who arrived with a slew of friends in twenty five cars today morning at the designated Tada court had looked tense in the morning. He faces maximum punishment of three years.
Justice Kode while announcing the judgement added that Sanjay Dutt is not a terrorist. The main charges against Sanjay Dutt were that he received some of the weapons from Abu Salem which were later used in the bomb blasts. Sanjay had confessed to doing the same when he was arrested for the first time in April, 1993. But later retracted from his confessional statement. The charges allow for a bail and Dutt is likely to do the same today.
The TADA court extended Sanjays bail till December 19th. Member of Parliament and sister of Sanjay, Priya Dutt has said that the family will approach the High Court for bail if the Tada court denied it. Bollywood has come in full support of Sanjay Dutt. Film personalities like Karan Johar, Govinda, Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi welcomed the fact that Dutt has been exonerated from the dreaded Tada. Moreover with the judge pronouncing that he is not a terrorist goes a long way in Sanjay Dutt being vindicated.
