It’s good to have the irrepressible Mithun Chakravorthy back in action in mainstream Hindi cinema. His disguise prone act in Salman Khan’s ‘Lucky’, villainy in Sushmita starrer ‘Chingari’ and the more recent guitar wielding do-gooder Ronny in Emran Hashmi’s ‘Dil Diya Hai’ has resurrected the Bengali virtuoso in the minds of the generation next.

He will be seen next in Mani Rathnam’s ‘Guru’ starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vidya Balan and Madhavan. Mithun plays a media baron in the film and Maddy (Madhavan’s nick name) found it difficult to match steps with the seasoned pro. He was made to do 15 retakes for a scene in the last schedule of the film for so that he can match Chakrovorthy’s effortless show. Madhavan being a Mani Rathnam protégé didn’t mind putting in extra effort for his mentor.
