PURPLE PAISLEY' the newest designer store in the fashion firmament in Mumbai took off with a flying start. PURPLE PAISLEY' The brainchild of the sister duo GINA GADHVI and TINA KHAN was inaugurated by KARAN JOHAR and MANISH MALHOTRA amidst a virtual galaxy of stars that descended to wish Gina and Tina success in their new venture.

The roll call of stars consisted of Hritik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Amrita Rao, Uday Chopra, Javed Jafferrey, Vipul shah, Bhagyashree , Himalayaputra, Sunita Memon, Salim Suleiman, Gul Panang, Jugal Hansraj, Mansi Roy Joshi, Shweta Pandit and lyricist Sameer, Shimit Amin amongst others.

The multi-designer fashion store showcased PRET, Couture, Indian (formal & Semi-formal), Bridal wear, etc..

Gina Gadhvi and Tina Khan stated that they were thrilled in seeing the fruition of the their child hood dreams come true and their constant effort would be to having new lines from 'PURPLE PAISLEY' designers as well as adding fresh lines from new talented designers every few weeks.

This enterprising designers promised that 'PURPLE PAISLEY' will have their personal imprint with regards to concept and designs, with her personalized attention and special care for made to order garments.

Gina Gadhvi is the wife of the celebrated filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi of 'Dhoom' fame. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Gina graduated from Sophia polytechnic in Fashion Designing, besides a course in printing and textile designing to augment her creative instincts.

Fashion runs in her blood as the daughter of renowned designer Mrs. Kala Desai, she worked as an apprentice for 5 years at her boutique EL-CID at the Oberoi towers, Nariman Point.

Gina turned independent as a fashion designer to create her own niche' and pursue her childhood dreams. As a designer she designed and supplied hi-fashion Indian wear to well known fashion outlets like ETERNIA, HAUZ KHAS, ANMOL COLLECTIONS, CONTEMPORY ARTS AND CRAFTS, PTFOLIO ( Bangalore) etc.

With her inborn sense of style and entrepreneurship, Gina hopes to make a statement with her trademark 'PURPLE PAISLEY ' that will grace the best bodies and hopefully spawn a chain of stores in the near future.
