The Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Monday said his force had no objections to Aamir Khan's latest film "Rang De Basanti" even though he did not personally like the movie.
Aamir's new movie has created a controversy as some IAF officials objected to certain scenes that they said depicted the armed forces and politicians in bad light.
Talking to the media on the sidelines of a commanders' conference here, Air Chief Marshal S.P. Tyagi said: "We are not the censor board. There is a system in place. If somebody asks for my opinion, I will give my opinion.
"I told him (the director Rakeysh Mehra) that I didn't like it (the film). It was a suggestion. It is up to him to consider it. But I will not (ask him) to remove any scene from the film."
The film created a stir in IAF circles as it shows one of its characters, a pilot, dying in a MiG-21 crash. Tyagi, however, said his force had "no role to play in censorship".
