Rang De Basanti to release on 20th January in India and Worldwide

Movie lovers eager for the much-awaited Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, will have to wait till the 20th of January for a worldwide release of the film.

The promos had only said January, and movie-lovers were hopeful the film would be released in the first week, considering every week after that would only be that much closer to examination time. However, January 20th it is.

Industry watchers are hopeful the film will do well. Apart from Aamir Khan and Soha Khan, Rang De Basanti has a stellar cast of stars actors in Waheeda Rehman, Om Puri, Kirron Kher, Anupam Kher and Atul Kulkarni, along with Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Lekh Tandon, Madhavan, Siddhartha, Alice Patten and others.

Written by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film also has some excellent lyrics by India's creative ad whiz Prasoon Joshi and music by A R Rehman.

Aamir Khan, other stars of Rang De Basanti to launch merchandise with Provogue in Mumbai today (evening of 21 Dec)

Producer Ronnie Screwalla has tied up with fashion chain Provogue to release Rang De Basanti apparel at Mumbai’s upmarket shopping mall, Crossroads. The event is scheduled for 7.30 pm this (21st Dec evening) and producer-director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra flew down especially from Chennai in the morning to be there for the launch. The film’s top star Aamir Khan too will be present at the launch, along with other stars from the film, like Soha Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, and producer Ronnie Screwalla.
