For quite some time now, Soni Raazdan's project titled Love Affair has been in news with Kalki Koechlin and Gulshan Devaiah along with Monica Dongra in lead. Earlier Arjun Rampal was roped in to play the lead; however the news that is out fresh from the oven is that Arjun has been replaced and Ali Fazal will be doing this film now.

Confirm this news Ali stated, "Yes i have been approached for the part in what I call the wee hours of the movie's commencement, to replace Mr Arjun Rampal, due to some issues. I read the part and said yes immediately. Its a challenging role, so I am still waking from the reality of it. And already immersed in the looks and costumes of the film because there is very little time to prepare".

A lot of changes have happened ever since this project was announced. Initially Kalki's role was to be played by Karishma Kotak.

'Love Affair' is about infidelity in marriage. Ali will be playing the husband married to Kalki and Gulshan will be seen as the lover. Monica is playing the role of the sister. It is rumored that the film is loosely based on the real life case of 1959, probably the first passion crime reported in the pages of crime.

Incidentally, this is will be second directorial venture for Soni Raazdan but a big one with such strong cast.
