'Katiyabaaz' becomes tax free in UP

After watching 'Katiyabaaz', a film about electricity theft, Akhilesh Yadav, CM of UP declared it tax free in the state. It is said that he was high on praise for the film and even tweeted about it.

'Katiyabaaz' portrays various facets of how the life of many people get affected by electricity or the lack of it. Although its story is based in Kanpur, the movie has a universal appeal. Even though the film deals with a grim subject it has a humour element ingrained and is very well shot.

In India documentaries so not get a theatrical launch and 'Katiyabaaz' becoming tax free is a huge. Following this development, the makers, Dipti Kakkar and Fahad are euphoric.

Earlier 'Katiyabaaz' has been screened at various film festival and has won accolades applause from all quarters. With the film now going tax free it will ensure a lot more people will watch it.
