Vistaar Film Fund's and WSG pictures latest film "Veda" is an ambitious adaptation of Shakespeare`s Hamlet` set in UK and Lucknow.

The Muhurat of film was held in Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai where Juhi Chawla inaugurated the film with Rt Hon. Deputy Prime Minister of U.K. and chief guest 'Nick Clegg'.

Host of the evening and former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer introduced the main cast and crew of the film that is an adaptation of Shakespeare`s Hamlet` which includes actor Sanjay Suri, Ashish Bisht who plays the role of Hamlet, director Onir and producer Bhavna Talwar among others.

On this occasion, national award winning director Bhavna Talwar, producer of Veda says, "Film making is a creative and fun process and if you do it with filmmakers whose work and creative output you respect, it can be even more fulfilling. Onir is a great film maker and when Sharad Chandra came to me with the script it was a no brainer. I look forward to supporting this film."

Immensely talented director Onir, expresses "VEDA is a film I have been developing with writer Bhavani Iyre for nearly five years now. It is a modern adaptation of Hamlet set in UK and Lucknow. The focus of the film is the love story. Anticlock Films, both Sanjay Suri and me, have been working for the last 10 years as independent film producers and have been involved in developing and making six films. Currently we are in production of my next film SHAB. As an independent film making body it is extremely important for us to collaborate with likeminded people and expand the horizon of our films to cater to an ever growing worldwide audience.

Talking about his visit to Mumbai and presence at the event, The Rt Hon. Deputy Prime Minister of U.K. and chief guest 'Nick Clegg', "I wish Vistaar every success in their UK venture. Amid the colour, the drama and the spectacle of Bollywood, it is easy to forget how important it is to the Indian economy, generating hundreds of millions of pounds in Mumbai and the rest of India. As we have seen with American co-productions on a grand scale, Britain is one of the world`s top destinations for film makers. I hope Indian producers will follow their counterparts in the US and take advantage of the UK`s facilities, expertise and glorious locations to create the next Indian Star Wars or Game of Thrones."

On working with Bhavna Talwar, he further adds, "I was thrilled when Bhavna Talwar joined hands with us and offered to produce the film. Her film Dharm is another example of exquisite indie cinema. I believe that we joining together to make VEDA will make it a stronger project. We are looking forward to take this relationship beyond one film and becoming associated in more films."
