After proving with "Julie" that he could take a potentially sleazy theme and turn it into a sensitive study of a woman's struggle, director Deepak Shivdasani is ready to make a sex comedy that isn't "cheesy".

Says Shivdasani: "I didn't have half the budget for promoting 'Julie' that 'Taarzan The Wonder Car' did. And look at the opening of the two films. With due respects to all my colleagues I now know what I'm capable of. I knew 'Julie' wasn't a sleazy film. But I had to get the audience in. And it worked beautifully. 'Julie' has resurrected my faith in myself."

And now Shivdasani is ready to do his next film, a sex comedy.

"At first I was reluctant. I don't want to get branded a sexy filmmaker. But the producer Pehlaj Nihalani is so reputed. He insisted I hear the script. He said that after seeing 'Julie' he felt I was the only one who could handle sex so well. Besides if I could make three film about prostitution - 'Pehchaan', 'Baagi' and 'Julie' -- without resorting to sleaze, why not a sex comedy that isn't cheesy?"

The words roll out: "I don't know whether I should even call my next film 'I Love you Boss' a sex comedy. That genre has been so badly abused. And by now everyone knows I'm not a sleaze maker."

It's about a young city girl and her relationship with her 60-year old boss. The plot goes into sensitive areas like marital misalliance and sexual frustration. Both the producer and director are keen to cast Boman Irani in the title role and he's likely to say yes.

"I need a completely new 22-23-year-old girl for the film. I need someone with the looks of Kajol or Rani Mukherjee. I've already started looking at several possibilities. For me, it's an easy film to make because the script has many situational moments. I expect to complete it in no time at all," Shivdasani says.

"I Love You Boss" is written by a team called Jhanak-Hriday whose only claim to fame has been Veeru Devgan's "Hindustan Ki Kasam".

"At first I feared being branded as a sexy filmmaker. When I heard the script I was on the floors rolling with laughter. I know I can do justice to it. And if people attribute lewd reasons for my post-'Julie' venture then I'm not scared. When I came to 'Julie' I had hit rock bottom as a filmmaker and as a human being. Now I've proved myself. My producer says I was good at comedy in 'Gopi Kishen' and at sex in 'Julie'. He thinks I'm the right person to make an aesthetic sex comedy. And I'm determined to prove him right."

Deeepak Shivdasani intends to complete "I Love You Boss" in the next few months before plunging into his next venture "AAA" (Anjali Anna Anamika) in October with Sushmita Sen in the lead.

"It's going to be 'Yaadon Ki Baraat' meets 'Kill Bill'," he promises
