If you believed SRK Eid Bonanza Chennai Express is the biggest and no could have beaten the Khans. Think again.
Hrithik Roshan in his desi super hero avatar in Krrish 3 has shattered all the records set by the mighty Khans in one blow and is writing records at Indian B.O.
Till the filling of this report Krrish 3 has collected a whooping 131 crores in five days and is poised to write history as the 1st movie in India to cross 150 crores in a seven day weekend.
The third installment of the franchise produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan on Monday broke SRKÂs Chennai Express record by collecting a humongous 35.10 crores on Monday making it the biggest collection by any movie in a day. Chennai Express maximum on one day was 33 edging out SalmanÂs ETT (30 crore).
Considering the fact that CE and ETT maximum collections where on its opening day and Krrish 3 recorded its highest on day four means the movie is backed by the audience no matter what experts say..
Starting with a whopping 21.5 crore on Friday (considering pre diwali its huge) the movie ignored the mix response from the critics managed to hold on superbly with a weekend of 65 crores for its Hindi version.
Additional 5 crores coming from the Tamil and Telugu versions.. Krrish3 total from 4200 screens (500 for Tamil and Telugu versions) gave a mind boggling of 70 crores net (considering the fact that pre diwali is not very favourable plus the cracker of the match between India and Australia on Saturday plus Laxmi Pooja in North India kept audience away but still the drop from Friday was minimal).
With an open field this week without any much threat from RGVÂs Satya 2. Krrish 3 is set for more laurels at B.O. According to Roshans the overseas collection of Krrish 3 is around 24 crores.
Certainly Hrithik has ended the mighty KhanÂs supremacy at Indian Box office and also given Indian sci fi a respect by bringing the super hero in vogue. LetÂs see how early it gets to the 200 crore mark.
