The destiny was cruel in the life of sandalwood queen Ramya alias Divya Spandana on Saturday evening. At the time of accepting the new responsibility her mentor and foster father succumbs to death.

It was a sudden shock for actress Ramya when she came to know the demise of her foster father soon after she filed the nominations for the By-Poll of Mandya Parliamentary constituency elections.

Ramya was accompanied by her foster father RT Narayan and Dr Ambarish, Housing Minister of Karnataka state and they came out from the DC office – RT Narayan had a massive heart attack. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but doctors declared him dead.

With responsibility on one side and tragedy striking in life the proud actress of Kannada cinema was speechless. She hardly spoke to one or two persons after this incident.

A senior Congress leader in Karnataka RT Narayan was cremated on Sunday at Mysore. SM Krishna, Prema Krishna, H Vishwanath, DK Shivakumar, Dr G Parameshwara, MC Nanaiah, Radhika Kumaraswamy and others paid last respect.
