Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan says he learnt a lot about courage, responsibility and patriotism while working with real-life soldiers on his latest film "Lakshya".
Hrithik says "Lakshya" helped him grow into a more mature person, just like the character he plays in this movie.
"I learnt about qualities like courage, commitment, dedication and responsibility," he told IANS in an interview.
"Lakshya", meaning 'the aim', focuses on the life and times of army man Karan Shergill (Hrithik) with Priety Zinta as a TV reporter covering the Kargil border conflict with Pakistan in 1999.
"You're amazed by the patriotism and motivation of the soldiers. In their company I was ashamed of how little I knew about my country. I loved the perspective of (director) Farhan (Akhtar).
"There is no enemy in this film. It's about Karan Shergill, it is the mind of this particular person and that's what Farhan wanted to explore."
Hrithik said he was "short of words" to compliment Amitabh Bachchan, who also appears in "Lakshya". "All I can say is it has been an honor to share the same frame with him for the second time," he said.
Farhan is just a day younger to Hrithik, which makes them share the same star sign.
"Yeah, we have actually known each other for a very long time. We have spent a lot of birthday parties together. I know him since kindergarten," he said.
Not many know that Farhan is a very good dancer, reveals Hrithik.
Hrithik's own dance moves in "Lakshya" too have been appreciated.
"You will be surprised that when I started dancing for 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai', I was criticized and called a bad dancer. Farah Khan advised me and thanks to the criticism I was able to dance well and improve further in my other movies."
Hrithik also revealed that his father Rakesh Roshan was already working on a sequel to "Koi Mil Gaya". How excited is Hrithik about this new movie?
"Dad is working on it, let's see how well the script shapes up this time," he said.
But Hrithik said he was yet to understand why there had been violence against his films in neighboring Nepal.
"I don't know how it happened, some said that it was done by people who wanted to tarnish my image. I love Nepal; in fact I'm the kind of person who believes that all people are good.
"I don't even have any enemies. I would like to meet the person who shot my dad," he said, referring to the incident in 2000 when his father was shot and injured by unidentified gunmen in Mumbai.
"I would like to sit down with him and try to understand why he did such a thing."
