What many dont know is that the film was made under a tight budget of 1.5 cr for each short story. The total budget of the 4 films then comes up to Rs. 6 crores. Besides, the expense for print and publicity added up more 6 crore.
After summing up, the total budget of the film comes up to 12 crores. So this makes Bombay Talkies, the cheapest biggest film to be made under this tight budget.
Not forgetting, there have been maximum stats and actors who have contributed their presence for the film. Moreover, most of the stars have even worked for free. It is a treat to see actors across all generations who have come together for this film. Spokesperson confirmed, "Bombay Talkies had a tight budget of 12 crores in spite of that the film is one of the biggest film made till date, which marks the celebration of 100 years of cinema."
