After visiting Ameen Peer Dargah, Prasoon Joshi has now visited the Ajmer Sharif Darga, Ajmer, Rajasthan for the very first time. It was an exhilarating experience for the noted lyricist, who had visited Ajmer to launch a prayer song written by him to mark the 801st anniversary of Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dargah in Ajmer.
Sharing details about the holy visit and its personal connection, a very pleased Prasoon said, "I have always had a special connection with Ajmer Sharif. A special bond since my childhood. I feel blessed to be given this opportunity - as they say its a hukum and not everybody gets one."
Talking about the prayer song, the lyricist-writer stated, "It wouldn't have been possible without the inspirational chats I had with Smt. Bina Kak who has been instrumental in this project. I am sure this offering will resonate as my earlier song Arziyan from Delhi 6 done with A.R. Rahman. I have tried to use language of the earlier days - Hindavi- in this song called Khwaja Ka Ishaara. Sonu has sung it magically and Sajid, Wajid have composed an inspirational tune."
Prasoon Joshi, who is a staunch believer Ameen Peer Dargah, was introduced to the place by his friend and close associate AR Rahman, who is a regular visitor there. In fact, Prasoon was familiarized to this Dargah by the Oscar winning composer, who draws all his inspiration and work from. And Rahman was the one who had introduced Sufism to Prasoon as well.
Since his first visit to the dargah, Prasoon has made it a point to revisit every year and he makes it a point that he visits the place at least once a year.
