Karan Johar’s first kiddi movie ‘Gippi’ is gradually getting ready for its on-screen adventure... Yeah, the much talked Sonam Nair’s directorial debut - ‘Gippi’ - is the first kids’ film to be produced by Karan under Dharma Productions.

While his latest production, ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ is already making the right amount of noise, his second venture for this May seems to follow suit... Our birdies reveal that since Gippi doesn’t feature any big stars or known faces, the makers thought of roping in two or three stars to spread the word about the film.

And guess who will promote the movie? It’s none other than the ‘Ishqzaade’ heartthrob Arjun Kapoor. The handsome munda has been roped in to shoot a special teaser promo for the promotion of this film.

Since Arjun is popular among young audiences, he was one of the first choices for the task. Apparently, Arjun took out time from the schedules of ‘2 States’ and ‘Gunday’ especially for the shoot.

Confirming the news Sonam said, "Yes, Arjun has shot a promo for us. Karan wanted him to back the film. Since Gippi is about an overweight kid who doesn’t like to go on diets, Arjun’s name came up as a natural choice because he also used to be plump when he was young and hated dieting."Not many know that before entering the filmdom, Arjun was a chubby kid on the block and he had to undergo sea change in his physique before he faced the camera....

"We thought we would tap into his personality because he loves to eat and doesn’t like to adhere to diets. So when we asked him what he would eat, he ordered burgers, cupcakes and pizzas - basically unhealthy, but really tasty food," adds Sonam, about the concept of the special promo.

Buzz is that a series of such teasers will soon be available online to promote the movie.

‘Gippi’ is all set to release on May 10.
