UTV Motion Pictures ‘Kai Po Che’ passed the hurdles of face value, the much awaited India v/s Australia cricket series and posted a fantastic 4.5 crore figure on its opening day yesterday.

By doing so the Abhishek Kapoor directed friendship saga based on Chetan Bhagat best seller ‘3 Mistakes of My Life’ has topped the charts of non star cast opening day collections by beating Vicky Donor which did 1.5 crore and Paan Singh Tomar which also collected 1.5 crore on its opening.

Riding on sheer content and impressive film making Kai Po Che opened with 65 % opening and picked up by positive word of mouth especially in multiplexes and is expected to register a super happy weekend.

Hemant Panchamiya of E-Square theatre chain shares the audience and says, "Kai po che audience review is fantastic and its getting standing ovation with people keeping on clapping in the end."

Gaurav Verma, Director - India Theatrical Distribution, Studios, Disney-UTV says, "it's a fantastic start for Kai Po Che and it will only keep on growing over the weekend. We are looking at a big weekend. Also the film will also have a sound week one and will have a long run at the theatre because of the appreciation that it is getting to sustain this super box office run."
