When asked Jayalalitha about the Vishwaroopam issue, she said, "As a Chief Minister, all that I would like to tell is, if Kamal Hassan and the Muslim league can sort out the problem between themselves, then the government shall render its help to release the film.
The Muslim league members who met Kamal Hassan yesterday has reported that they are ready to accept to Kamal's acceptance to eliminate few scenes in the film which is said to be controversial. Therefore, if Kamal Hassan and the members of the Muslim league come forward to talk over the issue and solve it, the Tamil Nadu Government is ready to support it to prevail social welfare. I would like to stress again that the 'Vishwaroopam' issue is not a political issue but law and order problem. No one's freedom or opinions are restricted here."
