While the awards season is on and Varun Dhawan can be seen singing and dancing away to glory, in between taking breathers he is also looking back at his debut film 'Student of the Year' quite fondly.
"The film was not made to make money or win awards; the most important thing for all involved was that it should be loved by people.
We didn't want audience to feel that we had made the film to take home ton loads of moolah", says Varun, "There was a lot of passion behind the film with a lot of love and care involved. The biggest reason was that Karan wanted to bring in new talent and we had to go all out to make him realise his dream."
While Karan's dream has indeed been realised, what with none other than Ekta Kapoor, Sajid Nadiadwala and Anurag Kashyap roping in Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra respectively, hence setting the way ahead for 2013 and years to come, the youngsters too know that now they have to deliver and bring things on the table.
"Yes, indeed. The appreciation and acknowledgment is most welcome and I am not scared of expectations either. However there is pressure that comes in when some of the stature of Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) praises you. He is someone whom everyone looks up to and I hope that I don't disappoint him", says Varun.
