Crowded weekend ahead as 'Chakravyuh', AGL, 'Rush' clash

Three films of distinct genres clash with each other this week. Since none of the three films are huge budget affairs, one could have still lived with two of them clashing with each other.
However three is definitely a crowd which means the box office prospects would definitely get divided. Now in a regular scenario, it would have been relatively easier to pick and choose the ones as per the interest area as well as reach amongst the audience. However since each of them sounds interesting, it would be nothing less than heart breaking if either of these turn out to be unsuccessful just due to the clash involved.
'Chakravyuh' has the power of Prakash Jha behind it. He knows a thing or two about ensemble affairs and though 'Aarakshan' wasn't great shakes, his 'Raajneeti' was. Its promotion has been decent, not excellent, though as a product it looks promising. The film enjoys an extended weekend of 5 days due to its mid-week arrival today.
For it to survive amidst the crowd as well as influx of movies in weeks to come (there is James Bond affair 'Skyfall' arriving soon after as well as '1920 - Evil Returns), an opening of over 50% is a must.
On the other hand if Emraan Hashmi's 'Rush' manages such an opening on it's Friday release, it would be a reason to rejoice for the makers since the film has been in the making for many years. To it's credit though, the film is not looking dated which means as long as Emraan's loyal fans embrace it and lend it a decent opening, it would be able to sail through.
Vashu Bhagnani too has made a wise call. Instead of arriving mid-week, facing an all around competition and unnecessarily invite perception issues due to divided collections, he has decided to give 'Ajab Gazabb Love' a regular Friday release.
This Jackky Bhagnani-Bidhi Subbaiah film is the best promoted of them all, has hit songs ('Boom Boom' has become popular) and carries an all around youthful entertainer feel to it. Response to promos has been good too and since this Sanjay Gadhvi film is not too high on the cost factor, it should fetch a much better opening for itself.
