Of late Imran Khan is making waves with his latest Vishal Bhardwaj movie ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’.

The Haryanvi style with bearded looks, complete with pierced ears - Imran is looking totally different from his usual boy-next-door image and stylish avatars.

While it’s refreshing to see the young actor in this new rustic character, there was however a time when Imran felt that he is not suitable for the role.

At the recently held first look launch of the movie, Imran told to media that he in fact wanted to back out from the project since he found the village-based character Matru too tough to play. Initially while reading the script he was unable to say the Haryanvi dialogues.

"It was not easy, I felt I made a big mistake and I should back out," revealed Imran at the event.

The actor even went and told his apprehension to director Vishal Bhardwaj. However, it was the filmmaker who instilled confidence in Imran and believed that he could indeed play the lead role. Later, thanks to thorough preparations for months and constant rehearsals, Imran got his part right. And the result is all out there to see...

Not only he is new to the rustic character, Imran is also sharing screen space with the bubbly beauty Anushka Sharma for the first time in this film. Talking about their pairing, an excited Anushka remarked at the event, "This is the first time we are working together. I never thought we would look like this. But Imran has looked the hottest in the film."

Releasing on 11th Jan 2013, ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ is co-produced by Fox Star Studios and Vishal Bhardwaj Pictures Pvt Ltd.
