For the entire team of 'Kismet Love Paisa Dilli' a.k.a. KLPD, the film is nothing less than an acid test. Amit Chandrra, the film's producer, has to get the box office rolling after being associated with 'Karthik Calling Karthik'.
Director Sanjay Khanduri has to make his second Bollywood outing count after 'Ek Chalis Ki Last Local'. Mallika Sherawat has to justify her roping in as a leading lady years after 'Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam' while Vivek Oberoi too is making a comeback of sorts two years after 'Rakh Charitra'.
"And trust me, when you would watch the film, you would realise that Vivek fits into the character like T", says Amit, "I know that all of this may sound cliched but that is indeed true. In fact I remember that when the script was finished, I asked Sanjay that who did he feel fitting into the role. He felt that Vivek was just the perfect bet."
In KLPD, Vivek plays a middle class Delhi boy.
Laughs Amit, "If I had the liberty to use the word 'har**mi' then it's the true characteristic trait that Vivek carries in the film.
With all due respect, he fits into the 'tharki' space really well. Also, as this quintessentially Punjabi youngster, he comes across as the right blend of sweet, fun and crazy boy."
Elaborating further, he adds, "He is a very good actor and the fact remains that whenever he gets an opportunity he performs. We were sure from the very beginning that he would be able to pull it off.
Watch KLPD, I think he is going to surprise a lot of people. We gave him a new space and he has come and delivered effortlessly."
We would know as well once the film releases all over on 5th October.
