For the first time in Indian cinema, two parts of a film is going to release together in theaters.
Gangs of Wasseypur part one and two will be playing in theaters back to back on this Wednesday, August 8. The part one of Gangs of Wasseypur released on June 22, 2012.
The film received such a great response that the makers of the film have decided to re-release the film along with part two in order to refresh everyone's memories.
As the two films follow a trail of crime saga, this will serve out to be a brilliant move for audiences as they will be able to revive the story line of part one and hence enjoy part two even more. Such a phenomenon has never been seen before in the history of Indian cinema.
The last the world ever saw this happening in theaters is when Godfather's series ran back-to-back in the theaters.
Running films in series one after the other is completely a Hollywood phenomenon and this strategy is being adopted by an Indian film for the first time.
Gangs of Wasseypur is all set to adopt this strategy in India as the makers of the film are very positive of this move. The main reason being part one of the film received an over-whelming response from audiences across age-bars!
The film will be running continuous in many theaters with a gap of 15minutes between part one and part two.
In Mumbai - PVR will be showing the film back to back in its properties in Juhu, Goregaon, Mulund, and also in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Saket, Gurgaon- MCF and Ambience in Delhi, - Cinemax Inorbit in Hyderabad and ESquare in Pune.
Spokesperson quote- Its true both films are going to release together on Wednesday August 8 across theaters of India.
