It was on Saturday that the audio of 'Saguni' was launched at a grand function in Chennai. In the next 24 hours, the 'Kanda Karavadai...' song was downloaded 75000 times, making a record of sorts. And music composer G V Prakash Kumar is so thrilled about it.

Sung by Shankar Mahadevan, the peppy number has some dialogues in between, which are mouthed by none other than Karthi Sivakumar, the protagonist of this political thriller loaded with humor.

"That is really great. 75,000 downloads in a single day is not an easy thing," says Prakash, adding: "We released two singles from the movie on Karthi's birthday. They got 2.5 lakh downloads in seven days."

This is the second time Prakash has worked for a Karthi starrer, with the first time being Selvaraghavan's 'Aayirathil Oruvan'. 'Saguni', directed by newcomer Shankar Dayal, has Pranitha as the leading lady. K E Gnanavelraja of Studio Green is the producer.
