Its a double whammy for Sonakshi Sinha who celebrates her birthday this year alongside her forthcoming release UTV’s out-and-out action film ‘Rowdy Rathore’ produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-produced by Shabinaa Khan, scheduled to release on the 1st June.

Says an excited Sonakshi, “It makes me feel special considering the film comes a day before my birthday. It’s also the first big movie after the IPL. I am looking at it as an advance birthday present.”

Adds Shikha Kapur, senior VP (marketing) of UTV Motion Pictures, “Our movie comes just a day before her birthday and we hope it will do well and make it a great day for Sonakshi.”

The 2-film old star has also managed to impress director Prabhu Deva so much so that he ended up writing a meatier role for her in the film.

All praise for the actress says director Prabhu Deva, “I feel that she is easily 25 films old. You have to just read out the dialogues to her once and she is ready to give a take. Same holds true for her dances as well as she hardly needs much time to pick them up. Moreover she is quite punctual too. These are some of the basic traits required for a successful leading lady and Sonakshi has it all.” Adding that, “Sonakshi is not just a pucca commercial heroine, she is star material.”

The Akshay Kumar starrer, action entertainer ‘Rowdy Rathore’ is scheduled to release June 1st, 2012.
