Ayushmann Khuranna has turned out to be an overnight sensation even as his 'Vicky Donor' continues to find audience for itself. He credits this acceptance to the fact that he was being himself and playing to his strength, something that he learnt right from his Roadies days when he was first exposed to the world of television.

"The idea is to bring your confidence on the fore instead of trying to play someone you are not", says the young actor, "Also, my parents have been thoroughly supporting me despite such a unique subject being explored here in 'Vicky Donor'. They were okay with me when I had donated sperms during the Roadies show and that too on the national television. Now they are more than happy to see me on the big screen. Logon ki soch badal gayi hai and thankfully there are no apprehensions or inhibitions about something as important and topical as sperm donation."

No wonder, it wasn't just his parents but even his wife who was more than happy to see him play the title role despite such a subject being considered as a taboo.

"I never hid this fact from my wife that what would I actually do in the film. She is also intelligent enough to understand what I am trying to say and how would I say that. Also, she is a lecturer and teaches mass communication. She is more than happy that her hubby is playing a central protagonist in a film like this", smiles Ayushmann.
