Of late there were talks about Anushka Sharma being finalised as Shahrukh Khan's leading lady in 'Happy New Year' which would be directed by Farah Khan. Though none of the players involved had spoken about the developments, there were some who insinuated that this indeed was the case. Add to that the fact that Shahrukh and Anushka had made for a good 'jodi' in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' was all the more reason to believe that the pairing would be repeated.

However the fact is that none of this is true and no girl has been finalised for the film. While the obvious options continue to be between the likes of Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Priyanka Chopra to name a few, Farah Khan is yet to pencil in on anyone and is holding on to making a formal announcement.

Says Farah, “There is absolutely no truth in the story. I have no idea where this rumour originated from. It’s surprising because I am yet to finalise the girl opposite Shah Rukh. This is truly a figment of somebody’s imagination. In fact, the journalists who are writing about this should become screenplay writers; they have some imagination."

Well Farah, till the time you indeed make an announcement, imaginations would continue to be unstoppable!
