The 48th production of pride of Karnataka Dwarakish 'Charulatha' starring Priyamani in the lead role went on the floor on Ugadi festival day at Kanteerava studio.

I am convinced with the role and the film will be interesting felt the national award winning actress Priyamani. In the previous film 'Vishnuvardhana' of producer Dwarakish this talented actress Priyamani was part of the cast. Priyamani gave chilling performance in 'Ko Ko...Koli Kothi'. Kannada audience has 'Anna Bond' and 'Lakshmi' starring Priyamani to watch in the theatres.

'Vishnuvardhana' completing 100 days is a great development in my career and this film is based on a foreign film. I am not going to reveal which film we have taken as inspiration. Definitely it is indigenous in nature. It will be very interesting film promises director P Kumar.

Dwarakish and his son Yogish are producing this film. Both hope for a good response to 'Charulatha'.

Skanda is making debut as an actor opposite top actress Priyamani who is in the title role. Skanda has acted in Telugu and Malayalam films.

For the muhurut shot Priya Sudeep (wife of super star Sudeep) sounded the clap board while Susheela Yogish switched on the camera. Seetha and Sharanya are also in the cast. Kumar, Yoganand, Shabari and Kalidas have penned the dialogues. Sundar C Babu is scoring music and Panner Selvam is the cameraman.
