‘Urumi’ is considered one of the biggest projects in Indian cinema. Boasting off a whooping budget of 30 crore rupees the film is helmed by National Award winning Santhosh Sivan.

Tamil industry’s bigwig producer cum distributor S Thanu has bagged the worldwide rights of this movie. Kalaipuli S Thanu will be promoting this film with innovative marketing strategies while taking it to world class audience.

"Urumi is a mega budget movie going to be released before Vijay starring Thupaki which is under production in my banner. I am sure Urumi will entertain people to the core. It’s my sole responsibility to take Urumi to cinema lovers" says Kalaipuli S Thanu.

The film is about the Cherans and will showcase how their rule in our country included them in dominating the seas as well. The film stars Prithivi Raj, Prabhu Deva, Arya, Genelia, Vidya Balan and Tabu. After action packed ‘Vettai’ audience would enjoy another dimension of Arya through Urumi.

Vairamuthu has penned six tracks that are composed by Deepak Dev who has blended well the 18th century and today’s trends in music. National Award winner Srikar Prasad has edited the movie.

‘Urumi’ is all set to hit the screens shortly.
