Work is resuming on 'Race 2' and one of the new entrants in this Abbas-Mustan affair, Deepika Padukone, is promising a treat for her fans and followers who have been waiting to see how she steps into the glamorous world created by the director duo. However a few weeks back before the film had gone on floors, there were rumours and speculations around her being in, out and then back in the film. One wonders what really transpired.
"Search me," says Deepika in an amused tone, "Ever since I signed the film way back in 2010, I was always a part of 'Race 2'. Yes, it does happen that when there are so many actors involved, dates of one of them get pushed as the other may be working on some other film. There are so many busy actors in the film and their dates had to be sorted out. Same was the case with my dates for 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'. Once Karan (Johar) and (Ramesh) Tauraniji sorted it out, it was all cool. Thankfully, I didn't even have to get involved in it at all. However people out there jumped to their own conclusions, which was sad."
While one waits to see how these films progress and turn out to be fruitful outings for Deepika, status for two of her other films continues to be in limbo. Even though she has already shot for a song in Rajnikanth's 'Rana', the film has now been shelved. On the other hand there is complete silence on her buddy/co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh's debut home production 'Paidaar' that she was supposed to do this year.
"No, I was never a part of 'Paidaar' and hadn't been signed for it. I don't know from where did these rumours originate," sighs Deepika.
Well Deepika, we are sure that you would use the time available for some more exciting projects and make 2012 a happening year for yourself.
