Promos of 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' are on and other than the vibrant look of the film, what has caught instant attention is the unusual pairing of Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan. While both are in the same age group, Kareena had started her acting career much before Imran and hence is far more experienced. Also, for someone who is working with all top Khans today, Imran is the youngest of the lot.

While the surprise value of seeing them together is certainly high, one wonders whether it was a conscious call taken by the makers (producer Karan Johar and director Shakun Batra) to get the actors together.

"Well yes, we wanted people who are actually poles apart. Shakun is very close to Imran in real life as well and as friends, they wanted the characters to shape up in a particular way", says Karan, "This really got some good clarity in because both Imran and Kareena could get their real life personality in play as well."

He adds, "In the film, Imran is meant to be this very perfectionist young man. So while he is a very stuffy kind of a character, he is also very work focused and doesn't let himself go. On the other hand Kareena plays this woman is who like a modern version of Geet from 'Jab We Met'. It is this very contrast that enlivens the film."

'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' releases all over on 10th February.
