Jagatguru has been in news since the time Nagarjuna agreed to play a guest role in the movie at the behest of JK Bharavi, who is the writer-director of this movie. Though his is a cameo, his relevance to the story is understood to be extraordinary. Based on the life of the Advaita philosopher Adi Shankara, it is now in news because Mohan Babu has agreed to do a special role in the movie.

Produced by Global Scene Creators, the film boasts of the presence of many familiar faces. Jayaprada and Prakash Raj are seen as couple in the movie. While Sri Hari is playing a key role, yesteryear heroines Meena and Roja are also seen in this film set in the 7th century. Naga Babu, Rohini, Tulasi, Shiva Parvathi, Anand and Jayaprakash Reddy are playing different roles.

The makers say that the film has the blessings of the heads of various religious institutions across the country. Since Shankara’s life was full of many divine experiences, the director is trying to depict them by means of graphics. Sixty per cent of this film has graphics integral to it.

Many hymns written by the great advaitin proponent will be featured. Music is by Nag Sri Vathsa. Bharavi, who has famously written Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu in the past, is penning the dialogues as well.
