'Pappu Can't Dance Saala' and 'Jo Hum Chahein' are the two new releases of the week and unfortunately none of them is expected to create any wonders at the box office. Year so far has been quite horrific for small films and scenario has changed when compared to the trend that was at its peak 3-4 years ago when number of such films had succeeded. This year non-starcast films haven't performed and though one would want the best case scenario of every film working, whether big or small, prevailing market conditions aren't really allowing that.

Neither are such films getting a good release nor are they enjoying any eye catchy promotion. 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala' hasn't quite managed to fetch much attention for itself and though it's overall content may turn out to be good (considering the fact it sees the coming together of Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Neha Dhupia), audience footfall isn't expected to cross the 25% mark. Also, with 'Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol' breathing down it's neck, it only becomes all the more difficult for a multiplex film like 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala' to attract much eyeballs.

On the other hand the team of 'Jo Hum Chahein' has done everything that it could do be in news for all the right reasons. Promos have been fine; songs are good, the newcomer cast has something about it that catches your attention while the overall product, despite an all new crew, looks polished. Still, that final thrust that could have enticed audience enough to step into theatres could have helped matters. It may be helped by reviews and good word of mouth but from the opening perspective, it would have to settle at low numbers. Also, it only has a week for itself since next week it would be 'Don 2' all the way.
