After a successful outing with BalajiÂs ÂThe Dirty PictureÂ, Emraan Hashmi has joined hands with UTV Motion Pictures for his next. The banner has signed the distinct actor for the first time for ÂGhanchakkarÂ.
The film will be directed by Rajkumar Gupta, who is back after his power themed film ÂNo One Killed JessicaÂ. For Gupta, this will be the third film under UTV after ÂAamir and ÂNo One Killed JessicaÂ.
Siddharth Roy Kapur (CEO of UTV Motion Pictures) who is thrilled on being associated with the critically acclaimed filmmaker again, is also excited to work with Emraan for the first time. ÂEmraan is one of the most bankable stars in recent times and just the perfect lead casting for this film, stated Kapur.
According to our reports, in ÂGhanchakkar Emraan plays the title character - a suave safe-cracker who likes the finer things in life. He decides to pull off one last heist which leads to unexpected confusion and chaos. The question is does he get out of it without losing it and who is conning who? Is Ghanchakkar really Ghanchakkar?
ÂGhanchakkar is a quasi-realistic urban comedy/thriller highlighting the absurdity of certain real human situations, revealed Gupta.
ÂGhanchakkar is written by Pervez Shaikh and Raj Kumar Gupta while Amit Trivedi (ÂAamirÂ, ÂDev D and ÂUdaanÂ) will compose the music.
On the other hand Emraan is feeling great to be working UTV and Rajkumar Gupta and talking about the project, he said, ÂGhanchakkar is one of the best scripts I've heard in recent times. Commercial, edgy and very entertaining I am sure this ones going to be a landmark film in my career.Â
While Gupta added, ÂVery excited to have Emraan on board and glad to be taking forward my association with Ronnie and his amazing team at UTV after Aamir and No one killed Jessica. We made the audience cry in Aamir and No one killed Jessica and with Ghanchakkar weÂre going to make them laugh."
