At least for half a dozen times actor cum Bharathanatyam dancer of international acclaim Sridhar has donned the role of 'Shiva' on Kannada screen.

Now in 'Bhaktha Shankara' devotional film of Sharadha Cinemas of Gurudut he is playing 'Shankara' again. The film has already started shooting at Srirangapatna and moved to set shooting in Bengaluru.

Purushottam has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues besides directing the film. Bharat Kalyan son of veteran Kannada and Tamil actor Kalyankumar is playing the lead role. Meghana, Sridhar, Sudharani are also in the cast.

Giridhar is the cameraman and music director of this film. Manohar is the editor and Ismail is the art director. Madan and Harini couple handling the dance portions in the cinema.
