Though his 'Vandhaan Vendraan' is not a big hit as expected, Kannan's spirits are not dampened and the director is planning to start next venture soon. Titled 'Alankaram', the movie will hit the floors very soon, according to the maker of 'Jayamkondan' and 'Kanden Kadhalai'.

"Alankaram will be a sci-fi film which would be set in the backdrop of love. It would be straight contrast to my earlier three ventures," says the former associate of Mani Ratnam, who was not ready to disclose anything more about the film.

He says: "Because discussions are currently on and things will be finalized at the earliest. Probably an official announcement will be made next week. By that time, you would get to know the name of the production house and the protagonist."

Buzz was that Kannan was planning to introduce the sibling of a popular Telugu actor in his next film. Meanwhile, a couple of scenes have been deleted from 'Vandhaan Vendraan', a Jiiva-starer, based on feedback from the audience and critics.
