Looks like script writers and directors are showing more interest in politics these days. No, we are not suggesting that they are entering politics but that there are more stories churning out of Kollywood with politics as the background.

Now we have one more film being made in those lines, and is titled 'Om Obama.' So one might wonder what Obama's name is doing in the title. Well the story revolves around village politics and opposite parties promising the moon for the villagers. One candidate even goes to the extent of suggesting that President Obama will visit the village and campaign for the elections!

Well what happens in the story deals with an entire village that is eagerly waiting for Obama to come to their village to solve their problems? The village is getting ready to greet Obama. This scene unfolds before an American journalist who has come to the village to capture the village's obsession of President Obama. Other ingredients like romance grass root politics which are interwoven subtly in to the story to form sub-plots.

'Om Obama' is under the post-production stages. Written and directed by Janaki Visvanathan the film will be released under the Shruthika Foundation banner. Paul J. is the music director and Bavan is the editor. Jamie Pierson, Ko. Vi. Manisekaran, Jaya Rao, Hariharasudhan, and a host of other stars in the film have lent good support to the film in taking it forward.
