Team of 'Double Dhamaal' must be thanking it's stars that it managed a tremendous weekend for itself that enabled very good collections in a sudden burst. That's because after managing to hold on reasonably well during the weekdays as well, 'Double Dhamaal' witnessed a steep fall over the second weekend due to massive competition from 'Delhi Belly', 'Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap' and 'Transformers - Dark of the Moon'.

The film's first week collections have been over 36 crores which is quite good considering the fact that these are third best first week collections of the year after 'Yamla Pagla Deewana'. However the dreams of crossing the 50 crores mark have been shattered as this Indra Kumar film had just one week to content for itself. It isn't as if the film has crashed because it hasn't been liked. The fact is that such has been curiosity amongst audience to watch newer releases of the week that 'Double Dhamaal' has been put on a backburner.

Still, all said and done, the film has proved once again that for audience it is entertainment that counts and not really the superstars. Also, the First Look plays a huge role in ensuring good enough footfalls in the opening weekend. This means that the film now has a shelf life much bigger than just a theatrical run. This out and out comedy can now be expected to do extremely well on satellite circuits and see numerous re-runs month after month. Also, the film should find good reception on the home video circuit.
