The on-screen Bad Man of Bollywood is currently having a good time. Gulshan Grover starrer ‘I Am Kalam’ is reported to have bagged won the Viewer's Choice award at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.

Directed by Nila Madhab Panda and produced by Smile Foundation, ‘I Am Kalam’ had a special screening on 12th April, the opening night of the fest.

Thrilled over the win, Grover remarked to sources, “I am very happy to share with you that my film has been awarded the best feature film, viewer's choice at LA film festival.” He is said to be very happy that his acting prowess has been recognised and that he is not just remembered as the bad man.

‘I Am Kalam’ revolves around a young boy Chotu, who woks in a roadside dhaba to support his family. Chotu becomes inspired from former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s message that anyone can change his or her destiny with smarts and hard work. The central plot of the film is in sync with the recently enforced Right To Education Act and stands for thousands of such aspiring children of the country. Set in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the film marks the debut of Delhi-based-12 year old underprivileged child Harsh Mayar in the lead. This is also the first time ever that a development organisation in India has produced a feature film.

‘I Am Kalam’ has already won 11 international awards. In fact Prince Charles had requested special screening of the film and Grover had also discussed the film with him in London.
