“It was my longtime wish that ad filmmaker Jayendra should direct a feature film. He has fulfilled it with ‘180’. Jayendra is one of the finest talents in the industry,” said Mani Ratnam on Thursday.

The ace director was speaking at the audio launch of ‘180’, a movie directed by Jayendra with Siddarth, Priya Anand and Nithya Menon playing the lead roles. Music is by Mollywood composer Sharreth. In his address, Jayendra said he ventured to direct a movie inspired by Mani Ratnam. “180 is a youthful bubbly entertainer,” he said and added that songs by Shareeth are the highlight of the movie.

“He came up with 180 tunes for 180,” Jayendra said. Among those who were present at the audio launch included ace cinematographer P C Sreeram, actors Arya, ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Shiva.
