Konkona gave birth to her first child, a boy, in a South Mumbai hospital on Tuesday morning (15th March). Ranvir Shorey, Konkona’s mother Aparna Sen along with few family members and close friends were said to be present there.

The couple were flooded with congratulatory messages from Bollywood personalities on their social network sites. The news was first shared in public by actor Rahul Bose, by quoting on his micro-blogging site: "Massive congratulations to @konkonas and Ranvir! A boy it is. With those genes, the dynasty is secure. (sic)" Vivek Oberoi and tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi also congratulated the couple.

According to sources, the couple will soon visit a temple once Konkona is discharged from the hospital by the end of this week.

Ranvir, 38, and Konkona, 31, got married last year after three years of courtship.
