Its done and the deal is struck. According to our highly placed sources, Akshay Kumar who was demanding a 27 core fee to play the role of dreaded underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in the sequel of Milan Luthrias successful movie Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai has settled for 21 crores.
There where lot of speculation surrounding Akshay and the sequel. First there where lot of negotiations regarding his role. Now its said that Akshay Kumar has cut down his fee to play the role which will also bring a variety to his body of work. The actor has a string of flops behind him and needs a different and strong role to resurrect his image in the market.
Previously, B-town Khiladi Kumar wanted a 27 crore fee and also insisted Balaji to sell the film to a corporate, so they could incur ready profits. But Balaji till now has never involved a corporate giant in their projects.
It was not working out as according to Balaji profits would have been reduced considerably if they agree to Akshays price. But both the parties where open for discussions and now our close hand reveals that the deal is struck at 21 crores for Akshay to play Dawood Ibrahim.
Akshay was Ektas choice for the sequel. A close hand reveals that, Ekta wants to take the sequel of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai to the next level. She felt that Akshay would be ideal for playing Dawood Ibrahims role.
The movie goes on floors after Diwali this year.
