Onirs I AM is one of the first crowd sourced films in India co-produced by over 400 people from 35 cities across the world. The films funding, talent and crew had been sourced through social media.
In the spirit of supporting independent cinema 65 year old Laxminarayan a cancer patient insisted on contributing towards the film I AM Omar - the chapter that takes a sensitive look at the issue of homosexuality.
Adds a close hand, A 65 + year old man (Laxminarayan) insisted on contributing Rs.5000 for I AM Omar. Onir was reluctant when he realized that the gentleman was a struggling writer and artist and even suffered from cancer.
The elderly gentleman however was not willing to take no for an answer and wanted to support the film in whatever way he could.
Laxminarayan was adamant and said to Onir You cannot take away the right from me to have my name in something good at the end of my life, adds the source.
