'Bhoot And Friends' and 'Ada... a way of life' were the last two releases of the year but the collections were so poor that let aside them being in crores, they struggled to even touch a few lakhs. None of the two films even saw an all India theatrical release for themselves and struggled to complete a single week at the box office.

The film that benefited most due to an open week was 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. The film has now accumulated 20 crores at the box office and is still going reasonably strong even as it has entered it's fifth week. In fact post the settling down of 'Tees Maar Khan' euphoria, 'Band Baaja Baaraat' has seen an increase in show timings for itself and is running at 4-5-6 shows at every prominent multiplexes. An above average affair, the film has been the biggest surprise of the last quarter of 2010.

'Tees Maar Khan' saw a major fall in its second week though around 11 crores still came in. The fall here was in the range of 75%-80% and the current total is hovering around the 61 crores mark. The film is a semi-hit affair on the sheer basis of a fantastic opening which was in the record making zone. The collections are below expectations though because the film of this scale, size and hype was expected to cover a much larger distance.

However the man who benefits most from this film is Akshay Kumar who proves all over again that he has in him to open a film huge. Now all he would want is a film which is made so well that it leads to universal acceptance beyond a weekend as well. That's because if a so-called 'rejected' film of his can make 61 crores (and inch towards the 70 crores mark) then one can well imagine sky to be the limit if a film of his hits the screens which is loved the most.
